Impressive HeadQuarters!
Detroit…the auto capital of the world…my first visit here…a disappointing downtown, with an impressive GM structure. Legend has it that GM bought this masterpiece from Ford for about $70M…quite a bargain if you think of it. the building once housed the tallest hotel in the world..the Marriott i think it is….the hotel is still there, but the record isn’t. The lifts take you to the 77th floor where you can have a drink and see someone swim to gamble on the poorer side of the border!!
I didnt really want it centered, as it would’ve shown the massive lifts on both sides of the towers. Instead, an angle to the right gives depth to the structure and gives a teaser of the front facade.
