Central Station Copenhagen

wanderer

Trains and railway stations are always fascinating.

The Copenhagen Central Station or the Kobenhavns Hovedbanegard or Kobenhavns H is more than 100 years old and still consistently ranks as one of the top metro stations of the world. The roof is painted a bright shade – perhaps the same color as the Golden Gate in San Francisco.

Roofs are usually one of the most overlooked parts of a vast structure. At train stations, passengers are often in a hurry and it is hard to notice something fifty feet away. For this shot I used a post processing tilt-shift effect to draw attention away from the tracks, the passengers, the book stand etc. and guide them to the repetitive design that symmetrically beautifies the roof.
