Chennai Beaches: Calm and serene amidst the sweltering heat

Riding a motorcycle from Chennai to Mahabalipuram is one of the small pleasures that every traveler to Chennai should indulge in. The drive is about 60 kms, and it should take you about 2 hours. With pristine beaches along the highway, crystal clear warm water, all you need to do to get respite from the sweltering heat is jump into the Bay of Bengal – it is a bliss! This beach looks more like a desert, outside of Chennai, I have no idea where the place is, but I can sure take you there a second time!!!! All you have to do is drive along the highway and you are sure to find it on your left.

Edit: I heard that this beach was destroyed by the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean – more than 180,ooo people were killed in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand and over 1.5M people were displaced. This picture is just a reminder of a place that does not exist anymore.
