A Danish in Denmark

wanderer

Danish in DenmarkSo we are up early – 5AM local time and we decide to wander the streets of Kobenhavn. It feels strange, the sun was out at about 4:30AM – it is bright outside, the famed cafes are all closed and the city is still sleeping. After roaming about for an hour, we spot the city cleaning trucks swing by at about 6AM picking up the litter. Nothing opens here before 7AM – and Lagkagehuset – this one close to Tivoli, was a fantastic place for breakfast. Danish in Denmark just tastes different – try the Direktorsnegl shown above with a cafe-au-lait – a treat for an early morning.

PS: We were scheduled to get here by the early afternoon, but the Asiana Airlines crash in San Francisco delayed things a bit. Big shout out to the ground staff for handling the emergency in the most appropriate fashion. Thoughts with those who lost their lives and those injured.
